Work-in-progress Megan's Law has parents struggling to access data.
The mother of three Warren County children molested by a church volunteer last year publicly criticized church leaders for failing to request a criminal background check on the man.
But a check would have proven useless in that case.
Robert P. Briglia, 22, of the 1300 block of South Main Street, Pohatcong Township, had no prior convictions and thus no prior criminal record.
But Briglia's recent guilty plea subjects him to the state's Registration and Community Notification Law.
