IN: Sex offender registry delayed.

Area law enforcement officers are facing a court-mandated, last-minute delay in implementing a registry that would place photographs and addresses of convicted sex offenders on the Internet.

Though the Indiana Sheriff's Association was due to have the Indiana Sheriff Association's Sex and Violent Offender Registry Web site up and running today, the Indiana Supreme Court on Friday temporarily blocked implementation of a new law that would require the state's county sheriffs to post the photos and addresses online.
