OK: Keating OKs expanding sex offender registry.
March 1, 2002
By Diane Plumberg Clay
Gov. Frank Keating signed into law Thursday a bill that
requires more criminals to register as sex offenders and
keeps some child molesters from receiving reduced
sentences.
"This is a good piece of legislation, which will assist law
enforcement in keeping sex offenders from committing
repeated sex crimes," Keating said.
House Bill 2300 adds to the sex offender registry
anyone convicted of assault with intent to commit a
felony, if the offense involved a sexual assault.
