TX: Sex offender registry in court's crosshairs.

Do you know your neighbors? How about the babysitter, the
youth counselor at your church, or the person who coaches
your kid’s little-league team?
Most victims of sex crimes know their attackers, but many do
not take advantage of a system that gives the location of
people previously sentenced on sexual assault, molestation or
indecent exposure charges. Nearly 500 of them live in
Galveston County.
For 10 years, Texas has required people convicted of sex
offenses and people who receive deferred adjudication for such
offenses dating to 1970 to register with local police
departments upon their return to society.
